What it is

Nanoplasty is an advanced, formaldehyde-free straightening treatment formulated with organic acids and nourishing ingredients that work deep within the hair fibre. Nanoplasty works by gently softening the hair's internal structure into a straighter position, then locks that shape in with heat.

How your appointment works

  1. Consultation. We assess your texture, porosity, colour history and goals, and choose your formula and heat settings accordingly, and provide realistic expectations on how straight your hair will be after one application of nanoplasty.
  2. Prep & application. Your hair is pre-treated with hydration if your hair is feeling dry, then the nanoplasty treatment is applied section by section and left to process.
  3. Seal. Hair is blow dried and sealed with a straightener in fine sections. This is where the straightening happens, and it's where technique matters most.
  4. Rinse & finish. Your hair is rinsed with a treatment applied for extra nourishment, with a quick blow dry showing you your final nanoplasty result. You can wash your that same night if you want to, there's no waiting period/downtime with nanoplasty.

What to expect after washing

Air dry your hair and you'll get a natural, straighter, frizz-free finish. Blow dry your hair and you'll get a sleeker, shinier, straight result. Either way, the straightness is in the hair itself, not in your styling. You can still curl or wave your hair with heat whenever you like, and it returns to straight after the next wash.

How long it lasts

Up to 8 months, although for most people, nanoplasty grows out rather than washing out, so the treated lengths stay straight while your natural texture grows in from the roots. When the regrowth starts to bother you, you book a regrowth treatment.

Good to know

  • Most clients get a 100% straight result in one treatment. Very curly, coarse, resistant or heavily chemically processed hair may need 2–3 FULL nanoplasty treatments to get permanently straight results from nanoplasty. Each treatment gets you closer.
  • The natural acids within the nanoplasty treatment can lift artificially coloured hair 1–3 shades lighter. We'll talk this through in your consultation, and it's why we recommend colouring after nanoplasty rather than before.

Nano Botox

Our smoothing treatment. Softer, glossier, healthier hair that still moves, and a far better base for anyone who loves to style.

What it is

Nano Botox is a deep-conditioning smoothing treatment. It's formulated with a nourishing blend of collagen, proteins, vitamins and natural oils that fill in damaged and porous areas of the hair fibre and seal the cuticle down flat. It doesn't change the internal structure of your hair the way nanoplasty does, but helps to restore damaged hair, smooths your texture and reduces frizz while leaving your hair's natural movement intact.

Think of it as the halfway point to nanoplasty. Hair comes out softer, shinier, more elastic and noticeably calmer. Waves are relaxed rather than removed.

Why it's the perfect styler's treatment

This is the one to book if you like to do your hair. If you blow dry, flat iron or curl regularly, Nano Botox gives you a better base to work from: hair that blow dries faster and smoother, holds a style for longer, needs less heat and less product, and doesn't puff up the moment you step outside. Your routine stays the same. It just gets quicker, and the results get better.

How your appointment works

  1. Consultation. We look at your condition, damage, porosity and how you like to style, and tailor the treatment to suit.
  2. Prep & application. Hair is pre-treated to target existing dryness, then the botox is applied and left to process.
  3. Seal. Hair is blow dried and the treatment is sealed with heat. Heat and technique are adjusted to smooth the hair without straightening.
  4. Finish. We recommend leaving your hair down and unwashed for 24 hours to let the treatment settle. Hair can still be tucked behind the ears, but no tight, slick hairstyles until the hair has been washed.

What to expect after washing

Air dried, your hair will dry smoother and softer with far less frizz, and your natural wave or curl will be relaxed but still there. Blow dried, this is where Nano Botox really shines: a sleek, glossy, humidity-resistant finish that takes a fraction of the time it used to. If you want a straight look, you'll still use heat to get there, but it'll be quick, and it'll last.

How long it lasts

Around 4–6 months when using a sulphate free shampoo at home and minimising exposure to salt water and chlorine.

Curly Botox

Our curl definition treatment. Your curls, kept exactly as curly as they are, just defined, hydrated and dramatically less frizzy.

What it is

Curly Botox uses the same deeply nourishing botox formula as Nano Botox, but it's applied and finished specifically to preserve your curl pattern. Instead of straightening or smoothing the hair, the treatment fills in porous, dehydrated areas of the fibre, seals the cuticle and helps your curls bounce the way they're meant to.

The frizz halo, the dryness, the curls that look great for an hour and then puff, that's what Curly Botox is built to fix. It doesn't change your existing curl pattern and will make the curls you already have look and behave more predictably.

What it does (and doesn't do)

It significantly reduces frizz, adds moisture, elasticity and shine, improves curl definition, and makes wash day faster and easier. It does not straighten, smooth out or relax your curl pattern. If you'd like your curls looser and softer, Nano Botox is the better fit. If you want them gone, that's Nanoplasty.

How your appointment works

  1. Consultation. We look at your curl pattern, porosity and how you currently style, so the result works with your routine.
  2. Prep & application. Hair is pre-treated to target existing dryness, and the treatment is applied through the curls and left to process.
  3. Set. The treatment is sealed with a straightener, but the technique is dramatically changed so once the hair is washed, your curl pattern will still be in tact.
  4. Finish. Option to leave without washing and wash/style your hair at home, or add-on our after wash & diffuse option to see the full curly botox transformation before your leave our chair.

What to expect after washing

Your curls will dry more defined, more uniform and far less frizzy. Curly Botox will work best when used alongside your regular curling products at home, you'll just need less product, less time and less effort to get a result you're happy with.

Nanoplasty is a straightening treatment. It softens the internal structure of the hair so that it dries straight on its own, and it grows out rather than washing out or up to 8 months for resistant hair types. Nano Botox is a smoothing treatment. It fills, restores and seals the hair so it dries smoother with less frizz, but keeps your natural movement, and it gradually washes out over 4–6 months. The simplest way to think about it: Nanoplasty replaces your styling; Nano Botox makes your styling easier.
They use the same deeply nourishing botox formula, so both restore, hydrate and reduce frizz. The difference is the goal and the finish. Nano Botox is sealed to smooth the hair, which relaxes and softens your wave or curl. Curly Botox is set in a way that keeps your curl pattern intact, so you get curl definition and frizz control without any change to your existing curl pattern. If you'd like your curls softer, choose Nano Botox. If you want them exactly as curly, just better defined, choose Curly Botox.
It depends entirely on what you want your curls to do. Want them gone and your hair to dry straight? Nanoplasty. Want them looser, softer and easier to blow dry smooth? Nano Botox. Want to keep them curly, just defined, hydrated and less frizz? Curly Botox. All three work on curly hair. The question isn't your hair type, it's your goal.
Yes. Many clients of our clients like to start with Nano Botox or Curly Botox and move to Nanoplasty later. Because the botox treatments gradually wash out, you're never locked in. If you've had Nanoplasty and later want to keep more texture, we'll simply let the regrowth come through and treat that with Nano Botox or Curly Botox instead. Tell us your history when you book and we'll plan it with you.
Every appointment starts with a consultation, so you don't need a separate one. If you're still on the fence about which treatment you're after, we have a standalone consultation appointment you can book so we can have a thorough chat before locking yourself in to a treatment.
Nanoplasty is an advanced, formaldehyde-free straightening treatment that uses organic acids and heat to soften and realign the hair's internal structure into a straight position. Keratin treatments work by depositing proteins and conditioning ingredients onto the surface of the hair to smooth it and reduce frizz, and many rely on formaldehyde or formaldehyde-releasing ingredients to lock the hair into shape when heat is applied. While keratin can leave hair shiny and less frizzy, that coating gradually washes away and the hair returns to its natural texture. Nanoplasty grows out rather than washes out.
Nanoplasty creates long-lasting straight hair that grows out rather than washing out. The treated hair stays straight while new natural hair grows in from the roots over time. Unlike permanent chemical straightening, nanoplasty doesn't permanently break the hair's internal bonds, making it a gentler alternative while still delivering lasting results. Most clients achieve their desired result in one treatment, although some coarse or highly textured hair types may need 2–3 treatments for a fully straight finish.
For most clients, yes. Very curly, coarse, resistant or already chemically processed hair may need 2–3 full treatments to reach a completely straight result, and your hair gets straighter with each one. We'll give you an honest expectation in your consultation before we start, so you know exactly what your first result will look like.
Nanoplasty is suitable for all hair types, from fine and wavy to thick, coarse and highly textured hair, including colour-treated and bleached hair. Every treatment is customised to your hair type, condition and goals. Formula strength, heat settings and technique are all adjusted so we never push your hair further than it can safely go.
Yes. Nanoplasty is formaldehyde-free and uses natural, plant-based ingredients including amino acids, organic acids and proteins. There are no harsh chemical fumes during the treatment, making it a safer alternative to traditional straightening methods for both clients and stylists.
Nanoplasty is free from harsh chemicals and formaldehyde, making it safe during pregnancy. However, we always recommend consulting with your doctor before proceeding with any treatment during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

If you want it straight, you'll still have to blow dry or straighten your hair to get there, but it'll be faster, sleeker and last longer than before. If you want hair that dries straight on its own, that's Nanoplasty.

Around 4–6 months. Unlike Nanoplasty, it gradually fades with washing rather than growing out, so there's no line of demarcation. Most clients rebook every 3–5 months to keep the smoothness and frizz control topped up, and a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo will help your treatment last longer.
Yes, it's one of the best things you can do for it. Nano Botox is a restorative treatment first and a smoothing treatment second. It fills in porous, damaged areas of the fibre, improves elasticity and reduces breakage, so it's ideal for hair that's been bleached, coloured, chemically processed or heat damaged.
Yes. Nano Botox is a great in-between treatment for nanoplasty clients who want a hydration and shine boost, or who want to smooth their regrowth without committing to a full nanoplasty yet. We'll advise on timing in your consultation.
Curly Botox is a deep-conditioning, curl-defining treatment. It uses the same nourishing botox formula as Nano Botox, but it's applied and finished specifically to preserve your natural curl pattern. It fills in dehydrated, porous areas of the hair, seals the cuticle and helps your curls clump together, so they dry defined, soft and dramatically less frizzy. It's formaldehyde-free and works on waves, curls and coils.
No. Curly Botox does not straighten, smooth out or relax your curl pattern. Your curls stay exactly as curly as they are now, they just look more defined, more uniform, more hydrated and far less frizzy. If you'd like your curls looser and softer, book Nano Botox instead.
Frizz drops significantly. Curls clump and define more easily instead of separating into a fuzzy halo. Dry, dehydrated curls regain moisture, elasticity and shine, and your whole wash day gets easier: less product, less time and a more predictable result. Think of it as your curls at their absolute best, every time.
Yes, your existing curl routine still works. Most clients find they need noticeably less product to get definition, because the treatment is doing a lot of that work already. Gels, creams, leave-ins and diffusing are all fine. A gentle, sulfate-free shampoo will help the treatment last longer.

Yes. Curly Botox works across waves, curls and coils, and tighter, more porous textures often see the biggest change in moisture and definition. Coily and coarse hair does require more product and time, which is reflected in our pricing categories.
It depends on your treatment. After Nanoplasty, you can wash your hair straight away. There's no 3-day waiting period like traditional keratin. After Nano Botox or Curly Botox, we recommend waiting 24 hours before washing to let the treatment settle. You can tuck your hair behind your ears, but try to avoid tying it up until you've washed it.
Use whatever works for your hair. Seriously. One of the many benefits of Nanoplasty is that you don't need to overhaul your entire routine to maintain your results, no matter how many other salons tell you that you do. If your current shampoo and conditioner work well for you, keep using them. The treatment does the heavy lifting from the inside. For Nano Botox and Curly Botox, a sulfate-free shampoo is recommended, as these are deposit treatments that gradually wash out and a gentler shampoo will help them last longer.
You can tint or colour your hair 24 hours after any of our treatments, as long as the dye is ammonia-free. If you're planning to bleach or lighten your hair, we recommend scheduling this 2-3 weeks before your treatment with us. If bleaching after your treatment, waiting 4 weeks helps ensure your hair stays in the best possible condition. Keep in mind that Nanoplasty can lift artificially coloured hair 1–3 shades lighter, so colouring after nanoplasty is always the best option.
Yes, you can swim in both salt water and chlorinated pools nanoplasty, although both can strip moisture from the hair over time, so we recommend applying a leave-in conditioner or hair mask before swimming to protect your hair. For our botox options, salt water and chloring will strip your treatment quicker, so wearing a swimming cap will ensure the longevity of your treatment when swimming.
After Nanoplasty, yes, straight away. After Nano Botox or Curly Botox, wait until you've done your first wash (24 hours) before tying it up, so you don't set a kink into the treatment while it settles, although tucking your hair behind your ears is fine.

Yes, you can reschedule or cancel your appointment up to 48 hours in advance through your Ovatu booking confirmation. Changes made with less than 48 hours' notice may incur a cancellation/rescheduling fee. Please contact us directly if you need to make a last-minute change.
Every treatment is customised to your hair, and our pricing reflects that. Prices are based on your hair length, as well as whether your hair is virgin/coloured, blonde/heavily lightened, or afro/coarse/coily. This ensures we allocate the right amount of time, product and technique to achieve the best possible result while maintaining your hair's integrity. If you're unsure which pricing category applies to you, send us a photo and we'll happily guide you before your appointment.
Please come with your hair freshly washed (double shampoo, one conditioner) with no leave-in products added if possible. If you'd prefer a salon wash, we offer a pre-service wash option as an add-on servive. Feel free to bring something to do (a book, a laptop, a podcast) as appointments can run for several hours, and wear something comfortable!
